Embracing Digital Currency Options for Customers
Ryan Sheetz, Executive VP of Marketing and Supply Chain, shared the company’s enthusiasm for making crypto payments available in all Sheetz stores. “We’re excited to give our customers the option to pay with digital currencies,” Sheetz said. “Stablecoins are gaining a lot of interest right now, and we want to make sure we’re offering choices that really matter to them.”
Sheetz’s Early Steps with Bitcoin
This isn’t Sheetz’s first move into the world of crypto. The journey began in 2021 when the company decided to accept Bitcoin payments. On May 28, Sheetz partnered with the Flexa payment network to bring Bitcoin to its checkout counters and even gas pumps. It was a bold step, and Sheetz was one of the first convenience store chains to try something like this, helping to set the stage for wider crypto acceptance in the retail space.
