OKX CEO Star Xu has publicly addressed accusations from Tron founder Justin Sun, who claimed that the exchange failed to act on a law enforcement request to freeze stolen funds following a recent hack of Tron’s official X (formerly Twitter) account. Xu stated that OKX had not received any such request through its official channels, including the spam folder. He emphasized that the exchange’s compliance policies require formal communication from law enforcement to initiate any action, and that personal social media posts are insufficient. Xu also challenged Sun to provide evidence of the alleged request.
The incident highlights ongoing concerns about security breaches involving high-profile crypto accounts on social media platforms. Tron had previously alerted its community about the hack, advising users to delete any direct messages received from its compromised account. Despite the breach, OKX maintains that it has not been formally contacted by relevant authorities regarding the matter.
