The treatment of Binance executive Tigran Gambaryan has drawn significant public concern, leading CEO Richard Teng to speak out. On Sept. 3, Teng expressed his outrage on X, describing the situation as “inhumane.” He urged Nigerian authorities to allow Gambaryan to return home for necessary medical treatment and to be with his family during this difficult time.
In June, Nigerian authorities dropped tax evasion charges against both Gambaryan and his associate, Anjarwalla. This was followed by the dismissal of money laundering charges in October, signaling a shift in their legal troubles. A spokesperson for Gambaryan’s family reported that he left Nigeria within 24 hours after the final charges were dropped. He is now seeking medical care in the United States, where he can receive the treatment he needs and reunite with loved ones.
Teng’s public comments reflect broader concerns over the treatment of individuals in legal disputes and highlight the importance of humane considerations in such situations.
