Solana just inked a deal with Kazakhstan. The goal? Turn the country into a Web3 hotspot.
The Solana Foundation and the Kazakh government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). It’s the first of its kind in Central Asia. They’re calling it the Solana Economic Zone.
What’s the Big Idea?
Kazakhstan wants to boost its digital future. Officials say this zone will help test and launch tech projects fast. Dubai’s DMCC Crypto Centre is their inspiration.
Zhaslan Madiyev, a Kazakh minister, said they’re serious about going digital. He sees Solana’s tools as a game-changer for crypto in the region.
What Will This Zone Do?
Tokenized Capital Markets
Solana’s tech will power a pilot with local partners. They’ll add digital assets to Kazakhstan’s traditional finance markets. Think stocks and bonds—but on a blockchain.
Web3 Education
Solana and local universities will teach students how to build Web3 apps. Rust courses (the programming language) are part of the plan.
(Rust is a programming language known for safety and speed.)
Startup Magnet
Kazakhstan will make it easier for blockchain startups to settle there. Tax perks, solid regulations, and access to infrastructure are on the table.
Web3 is going east—and Solana’s helping pave the way.
