Ethereum’s Rebel Foundation Wants $10K ETH

A new squad’s on the scene—meet the Ethereum Community Foundation (ECF). It’s run by core developer Zak Cole, and they’ve got one big goal: boost ETH to $10K.

🔧 Why Start a New Foundation?
Zak says the original Ethereum Foundation doesn’t care enough about ETH the asset. So, he stepped up. The ECF is here to do what others won’t—help ETH grow in price and make Ethereum stronger.

“We do what they won’t,” says Cole. Bold.

💸 What’s Their Plan?
The ECF will give money (grants) to projects that:

Burn more ETH (reducing supply)

Help build important Ethereum infrastructure

Stay public and don’t launch shady tokens

These projects must run on Ethereum’s mainnet—meaning they naturally burn ETH when people use them.

🧱 No Tokens Allowed
To get ECF funding, projects must be:

Tokenless (no pump-and-dump coins)

Immutable (can’t be changed later)

That’s a big swipe at others who got support from the Ethereum Foundation, then cashed in with their own tokens.

🔥 Calling Out the Big Guys
Cole named names: Uniswap, ENS, Optimism. All got help from the Foundation, then launched VC-backed tokens.

“Public projects should stay public,” Cole insisted.

👁️ The First Funded Project: EVA
The first ECF grant goes to Ethereum Validator Association (EVA). It gives validators a voice in ETH’s future—like voting on upgrades and which software clients should lead.

Cole also warned about possible conflicts. For example, Arbitrum’s team owns part of Prysmatic Labs, which helps run Ethereum.

So yeah, things just got spicy in the Ethereum world.

What do you think?
