BlackRock Debuts Bitcoin ETP as UK Lifts Trading Ban

BlackRock launches Bitcoin ETP in the UK
BlackRock has introduced a Bitcoin-linked exchange-traded product (ETP) on the London Stock Exchange. The move comes after UK regulators relaxed rules on crypto investment products.

Invest in Bitcoin without buying it directly
The iShares Bitcoin ETP lets UK investors gain exposure to Bitcoin through regular brokerage accounts. Units start at roughly $11, making Bitcoin accessible without needing a crypto wallet or exchange account.

How the ETP works
The ETP mirrors Bitcoin prices within a regulated framework. Investors can trade Bitcoin fractions safely, while the asset remains in secure custody under the ETP structure.

UK eases crypto investment rules
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) lifted a four-year ban on crypto exchange-traded notes (ETNs). While retail crypto derivatives remain restricted, tokenization and blockchain-based fund products are now encouraged.
