Heather Morgan, aka rapper “Razzlekhan,” got 18 months in prison for laundering Bitcoin stolen in the 2016 Bitfinex hack. She pleaded guilty in August to money laundering and fraud.
A Billion-Dollar Hack
Morgan’s husband, Ilya Lichtenstein, hacked Bitfinex and stole 119,754 Bitcoin. Back then, it was worth millions, but today, it’s worth a staggering $10.8 billion, with Bitcoin trading at $89,765.
Shorter Jail Time for Cooperating
Lichtenstein, sentenced on Nov. 14, got five years instead of 20, thanks to his cooperation with authorities. Morgan’s sentence followed on Nov. 18.
