Jack Dorsey’s Bitchat Launches Without Internet

Jack Dorsey’s latest creation, Bitchat, just landed on Apple’s App Store. This isn’t your average messaging app.

Bitchat lets users send messages peer-to-peer using Bluetooth mesh networks. That means you don’t need the internet. Seriously.

It’s designed for places where internet access is limited—or completely shut down. Think disaster zones, protests, or remote areas.

There are no central servers. No accounts. Just devices talking directly to each other. All messages are encrypted too.*

This launch shows Dorsey’s ongoing push for decentralization. Since leaving Twitter, he’s gone full steam into Bitcoin-based tools.

Block, his company, is behind the app. It focuses on open-source projects and Bitcoin infrastructure.

Block also just made it into the S&P 500. That makes it the second crypto-friendly company to get there.

Oh, and the stock? It’s up 11% in the last five days. Looks like Wall Street’s starting to take the crypto crowd seriously.
