Pump.fun Slammed for Hosting Harmful Livestreams

Pump.fun, a platform for Solana-based memecoins, is catching heat after users streamed shocking and dangerous behavior. The crypto community is demanding better moderation—or for the livestream feature to be shut down entirely.

Disturbing Events Spark Outrage

On Nov. 25, Beau, a safety manager from Pudgy Penguins, called attention to a horrifying livestream. A user threatened to commit suicide if their coin didn’t hit a certain value. Beau urged Pump.fun to act immediately, even suggesting the livestream feature be removed, calling it completely “out of control.”

Things didn’t stop there. Reports surfaced of someone firing a gun out a window whenever their token’s value rose. Even worse, a child allegedly threatened their own family over coin prices, and another user made horrifying threats about attacking a school if their memecoin didn’t hit a target.

The crypto community is outraged. Many are calling the livestreams a “pipeline of felonies” and demanding the feature be turned off until proper moderation tools are in place.

Pump.fun Defends Itself

Alon, the platform’s anonymous leader, pushed back against the criticism. He said Pump.fun has a dedicated team of moderators working 24/7, along with engineers handling the platform’s growing user base.

Still, the community isn’t convinced. People are asking for clearer answers and immediate action to stop harmful content from spreading. Pump.fun has yet to say if any big changes are coming.
