Some US generals are pushing for a national Bitcoin reserve.
Senator Cynthia Lummis shared in a June 3 interview that leaders in Southeast Asia believe BTC could be a strategic weapon.
They’re not just thinking about dollars anymore.
“We’re in an economic war with China,” said Lummis. “And we might face a real one, too. So we need both — money and muscle.”
The US Department of Defense hasn’t responded yet.
But these statements come during growing tension between the US and China.
Remember the Trump trade war?
Tariffs flew everywhere. Most were dropped — except the ones on China. A peace treaty cooled things down, but just a little.
Trump now wants America to be the crypto capital of the world.
“If we don’t, China will,” he warned in a Bloomberg interview.
China banned crypto back in 2021 but still loves blockchain.
They’re building a digital yuan using it.
Meanwhile, VP JD Vance said at Bitcoin 2025:
“If the US doesn’t lead in crypto, we’ll fall behind in the global economy.”
